Just reviewed the Vado HD two days ago. Here's a short review that I hope will help.
Build (5/10):
Like trash. I must admit when I unboxed the Vado and put it in my hands it felt like it was from the 99 Cent Store. The lithium ion battery that came it with felt the same. But hey, I got it for a decent price so I wasn't expecting much. Even for full price I wouldn't expect it to be anything close to an actual Canon/Panasonic/Sony camcorder. These little HD pocket recorders are a different league. At least it comes with a free Silicone case.
Interface (2/10):
Unattrative, not many settings. I would have hoped they would at least use the similar Zen User-Interface. Not much you can change here.
Ease of Use (10/10):
Power it up, press record and go. Pull out the USB connecter and upload. Has some built in software so that's neat.
Image Quality (9/10):
Surprisingly good. I was very surprised when I uploaded. Like many others have said videos in low light aren't as nice but still, for this price what do you expect? Still great!
Overall (8/10):
Yes, construction is lacking, low light image is lacking (a bit) but at a discount and maybe even at full price, it's very portable, has great image quality, very easy to use, good amount of storage. I like it quite a bit. I have taken many random videos and it's very fun. Girlfriend enjoys recording random things too.
