First of all, I paid $130 for this camera, so I really can't complain. Amazon was having $100 off on it, and I got lucky. Now the camcorder is great. It's small and should fit in your front jeans pocket with no problems. The picture quality is impressive for such a tiny little thing. It takes a little bit to adapt to different lighting situations, but you get used to it after a few days using it. Battery lasts a long time. I usually use it for taking very short clips, so it lasts me a long time. I just took it to Europe with me and got some great shots. The colors come out very nicely and the sound quality is very impressive as well. I wasn't very impressed with the software that comes with it (only works on Windows). It doesn't have a lot of editing options, but it's good for straight YouTube uploading. I love the HDMI cable that comes with it. Plug right into the HDMI slot on your TV and watch your movie in HD.
I gave it a 4 stars because of 2 little things.
1. Very shaky. You have to have very steady hands to keep the picture looking good. When I stop and hold really still, the picture looks great. But walking and filming is bad.
2. Not compatible with the newer versions of iMovie. It does work, however, with iMovie 6. I have 2 Macs, and one has iMovie 8 and one has iMovie 6. So I got lucky there, and I can edit it on iMovie 6.
I would highly recommend this camera if you're not planning on doing anything too elaborate.
