I sent this item back to amazon after trying to use it for 3 weeks. I rate a 2 because it IS very easy to use, out of the box the battery is charged and in the 3 weeks I used it - the battery never needed re-charging. It's cute and fits in a small purse, so ease of use is great. You can take it out and shoot video at a moment's notice. If you want video to post on the internet to your friends - it's a decent product. I did however have problems with the buttons sometimes sticking and getting a blank screen when trying to review what I just took. Turn it on and off a few times did the trick.

My problem was getting the clips off of it and strung together into a simple movie. I'm a mom and want to document the cute things my kid does and burn them onto a DVD to watch on TV....simple slideshow stuff. What I need is a REAL video camera. There are NO instructions with the product and the 'customer support' on their website is useless as well. NO DETAILS & impossible to reach a human - just try to find a phone number to call! The VADO built-in software is also useless and there are no advanced online instructions for it. The only help I could find was from the people who post here on amazon asking users for help. READ these posts B4 you buy - if I had, I would not have purchased it. Many people asked the same questions as I had ....& experienced problems with getting video, but no sound, or sound, but no video when transferring it to a movie making software. It does NOT work with windows moviemaker on my brand new computer...I'd put clips together & play back sound, but no picture. I tried to make slide shows on ProShow Gold, which supports the .AVI videos from my cannon camera nicely, but the VADO .AVI files will not work at all - just a blank slide. Essentially, I have a bunch of 2 minute video clips that can be posted to UTube (which I don't care about )but I can't take a month's worth of clips and make a little movie slide show to burn to DVD. I guess I needed a real video camera, since I already own a nice cannon camera that does take video clips of much higher quality than the VADO.
Live and Learn, it might work for some of you, but not for someone who wants a simple way to document family happenings without being a technical whiz who can figure out just WHAT software will be able to accept the type of .AVI files this thing puts out.
